I am being very adventurous and decided to make six t-shirts to include all of my grandchildren. I did have some knit fabric that needed to be used up. This is the boy version.

Good News
I put this picture on before I entered it in the California State Fair. It won honorable mention with the Meissner Sewing and Learning Center Award. Can't say I know what that is.

Doshi
I was able to attend a one day workshop with Doshi with my wearable art group in LA. She gave us so many ideas that I want to just try them all. She was very good and inspiring. This was a small scarf that I pole wrapped and then put into a acid dye bath.

The next step
I can't believe I left my camera at my sons when I was on a visit. Unable to blog with pictures was the consequence. I am happy I am back into pictures. This the next step in my jacket that I am working on. I sewed the stripes on the muslin base and then free motion quilted. I have begun to add some detail embellishments with covered cord and metal decorations.

Creating a jacket
I am creating a new jacket with several of my hand-dyed fabrics and two commercial fabrics. I will be speaking at our American Sewing Guild tomorrow night and put this jacket together part way so I could show how to put together a jacket with a muslin base. I also will be showing some of my garments with wearable art techniques.

Shibori
I dyed this scarf with brown colorhue dye. Then used a kitchen rubber mat that you use in a sink and pulled the scarf through the holes. I tyed the silk that I had brought through the holes. The scarf was dyed black and each tyed piece I painted with a dark orange.
