New Top

I really like this top. I put a thin layer under the top layer and that worked out well. I think it would of been too heavy if I did all the layers in the same fabric. I actually didn't intend on doing it that way, as I didn't buy enough fabric and had to come up with a way to add to the fabric that I bought. Our mistakes often push our creative spirit to a better place.
The neck is designed somewhat low, so I brought it up a 1" and I think if I make this again I would bring it up more.
You can't see it very well, but there is a second layer under the back too.

B6290

This is Katherine Tilton's recent T-shirt pattern. I made View D.
The design of it made it easy to put a zipper across the front.

I like the underarm has a piece added. I like this one, but found it to run big, so the next time I make it I will make a small.

T-Shirt

This is the last and eighth shirt made for the grandkids. I used a stencil and sprayed it with Tsukinek Walnut Ink, Terra Cotta and Eucalyptus. I was experimenting to see how these inks would look on fabric. I think it gives a different look. Rather like it.

Silk Screening today...

I am being very adventurous and decided to make six t-shirts to include all of my grandchildren. I did have some knit fabric that needed to be used up. This is the boy version.
These are for the two girls.
Silk screening sure is fun. On the light shirt I put some pink set-a-color with water in a spray bottle and sprayed it on the shirt to add a little color here and there.

Weekend Accomplishments

I finished this t- shirt for my Red Hat meeting this Tuesday. This was a t- shirt that I had laying around and I decided to try out the embroidery machines at school and put a cute red hat lady on it first. I cut off the sleeves and put some red sleeve fabric and made little roses to put on the shirt. I ironed on red crystals.
In my online shibori class we did pole wrapping and I really like the way this one came out. I use orange, purple and red.
For the online class I ordered some plexiglass shapes to do folding and clapping and dyeing. I wanted to see how these shapes would come out on cotton fabric and using procion dye. It is a long process so I don't think that I would do a quilt using several of these squares.

T-Shirt

This was a fun challenge. This is a man's t-shirt I decided to decorate. I began by silk screening a design.
This is the back.
The front. I inserted lace panels on the side of the vest. Put knit binding on the front cut edges. Sewed a fine lace trim around the neck and gathered double folded tule for trim around the bottom. Placed two button just under the bust line, so as to form a closure.
