More Painting

This is the poppy that Karen was painting for us today. A lot to learn. It is always so exciting to learn different ways to do things.

Santa Fe

I left on trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico to attend a International Silk Painting Conference. This is some pictures of my first class beginning this morning. We are stretching our silk on a frame.

Here we are out side spraying our silk with magic sizing starch which acts as a resist when we begin painting with dyes.
Our teacher is Karen Sisstek and she has just shown us how to paint a iris.
This is a newspaper picture of a dress that we are hoping to paint once we have learned what this class is teaching us which one of the students brought along to inspire us.
This is the beginning of a poppy we will be finishing tomorrow.

A New Scarf

A friend gave me the pattern for this scarf. I used up some of the left over yarn I had from making socks. I thought this was very different. It was easy to make. I can also see making a lot of it and using it as trim on a jacket.

More Hand dyed Fabrics

Just putting more of my hand dyed fabric in my esty shop. This one is cotton sateen which is my favorite fabric to dye. It takes the color so well and it is vibrant. If you have never touched this fabric, you are in for a real joy.

Frog

One of my nephew's wife is expecting, so I am having fun with baby things. Found a pattern for some really cute bibs. Made a extra one to put in the esty shop, if you are interested.
