More Shibori Methods

This scarf was dyed with colorhue dyes. The first was turquoise and then I pulled it through the holes of a rubber kitchen sink matt which I got at the 99c store. I had to cut it in half to make it cover the length of the scarf. Then it was dyed sky blue. This was another method that Glennis Dolce shared with her online class. I like the effect.

Quilt is officially done

This has truly taken many hours out of my life, but rewarding. Even my husband after seeing me spend the hours could appreciate it on our bed. We went out and celebrated with a ice cream sundae.

Weekend Accomplishments

I finished this t- shirt for my Red Hat meeting this Tuesday. This was a t- shirt that I had laying around and I decided to try out the embroidery machines at school and put a cute red hat lady on it first. I cut off the sleeves and put some red sleeve fabric and made little roses to put on the shirt. I ironed on red crystals.
In my online shibori class we did pole wrapping and I really like the way this one came out. I use orange, purple and red.
For the online class I ordered some plexiglass shapes to do folding and clapping and dyeing. I wanted to see how these shapes would come out on cotton fabric and using procion dye. It is a long process so I don't think that I would do a quilt using several of these squares.

Shibori Class

This is a scarf that I did with colorhue dye and it is a sample that I am going to use for a class that I am teaching March 26th. I learned how to do this from the online class that I am taking.

Another piece from my Shibori Class

I used peach for the back ground and then eggplant, blue and black. One of the circles didn't get tight enough. I added orange to the circles.
I am going to try out some more samples.

Shibori Class

I began a online class a couple weeks ago on joggles.com with Glennis Dolce on Shibori. These are my samples. I have never taken a online class before. I am really enjoying and like the way you can do it when you want to. The discussions that the class do is very helpful. Glennis does videos of her work and that is also very helpful. Glennis is using Colorhue dye and it is a very interesting dye to work with.
