Really like this vest. I made it in a drape fabric so it will look nice when I put it over a knit top.
It is easy to make and it goes fast. I have a black and white top which I think it will compliment. I made a small. I found that it runs big.

Ericson's Patterns
I used Lois's vest pattern
and Diane's pants pattern
I know my eyes are shut which seems to be a common thing I do on picture taking.
I used Japanese silk to piece the vest with and lined it with vintage kimono silk that I iced dyed. I used washers and little brass connectors from the hardware store for the ties on the front of the vest.
I hand stitched designs on the front and back with black #5 pearle cotton thread.
The pattern has several suggestions to inspire you into making your own pockets. I used some leather on the pocket and the legs.
Now I want to make another pair of pants and design some more pockets.

Diane Ericsson's New Jacket Pattern
This a very fun jacket to make. I had some wedding silk satin which I dyed black. Amazing how with black you never know what color you will get. I liked the blue look. I also didn't iron the silk so it has a wrinkled look. When I went to the Outside the Lines Retreat with Diane, she had several examples made up. A vest and one out of a man's wool jacket. One was totally hand sewn. Stenciling ideas. Certainly enough to inspire the brain.
Has attractive cuffs which I did in a complimentary fabric.
I used perile cotton #5 to hand stitch the tucks.
Diane's stenciled bug.
Love the collar. I added a facing which included the collar, so the fabric would be the same as the outside fabric.
Added a little piece of stenciled fabric and a vintage button. This has a hidden pocket on one side. There are oppositional ties inside. I would like to try a vest next.

Telephone Book
I have never seen such a fancy phone book. We received this the other day. We live in many strawberry fields. They will be having their strawberry festival in a couple of weeks. I have never gone, but they have it at our local fairgrounds and sell many things made with strawberries.
