Went up to my friend Nancy's in Vancouver Washington. We shopped in Portland and found this Japanese gauze. I had never sewed with it before and it went quite well. We both eyed this Tina Given pattern and decided to spend a day sewing together. She had another fabric to make her top and we had a great time sewing together.
I cut off the shaggy edge of the selvage and placed it in the seam between the bodice and sleeve. Gave a nice detail.
This was the label that I made for the back at the neck on the outside just below the collar. I included some of the selvage in the label.
This was the first time I have sewn with a Tina Given pattern. I learned that the directions are not for a beginner. The directions are very sketchy.

Marcy's Jacket
Enjoyed making this jacket. I was gifted this beautiful silk satin fabric from China. I have been saving it for a special project.
I have seen this pattern done up in other fabrics, so I think you can change the jackets personality very easily.
I was able to use this trim I picked up in Paris along the inside facing.
I used hong kong seam finishing. This fabric had a beautiful wrong side finish as well. So not lining it showed that off.
