Just took a four day workshop from Jill Schumacher. She is a wonderful teacher and I learned a great deal. We learned free motion, trapunto and sashiko. When I finish mine I will put some pictures on for you to see. These are two quilts that she just finished to show us her work. Some of her work is done in silk/cotton sateen. She uses silk thread to do the free motion and it is just beautiful. I can't wait to get some time to experiment with some of the techniques that I learned.

Good News
I put this picture on before I entered it in the California State Fair. It won honorable mention with the Meissner Sewing and Learning Center Award. Can't say I know what that is.

A New Vest
This is what has been taking up all my time. I attended Rosemary Eichorn's workshop. She is a excellent teacher. Makes things very understandable. I had had her book since it first came out and was always going to make something out of it. Well, the opportunity finally came along and I couldn't pass it up. Laying out the vest took the two days of the workshop, but the real work was the free motion which took me a week. I hadn't done much free motion before. Now I feel that I have a lot of practice.
